Alex received her masters in speech language pathology from the University of Washington after first earning her bachelor’s from the University of Arizona. Alex has over 6 years of experience working in the pediatric outpatient setting. She has experience working with children in the following areas: expressive and receptive language delays, articulation delay/impairments, motor speech impairments (including childhood apraxia of speech), autism spectrum disorders, social pragmatic differences (social skills), alternative and augmentative communication, Down Syndrome, early intervention, and more. Alex is particularly passionate about motor speech production and early intervention, and her pursuit of continuing education has reflected this focus. She is trained in both PROMPT and Hanen It Takes Two to Talk training. Alex strongly believes in therapy and intervention that focus on family-centered care. She is dedicated to helping children and families meet their functional communication goals.
When Alex is not working, she enjoys spending time with family, friends, and her cat. She is new to the area and loves exploring all that the Bay Area offers – from delicious food to outdoor adventures!
